Search Notes
Global search
Press Cmd+Shift+F / Ctrl+Shift+F to search across all notes. Results appear instantly and show note title, match preview with highlights, and folder location.
Search is powered by SQLite FTS5 and covers note titles, content, and tags.
Filter results
- By tag: click tags in the Tag Panel to narrow results — blue (+) to include, red (−) to exclude
- By folder: select a folder in the sidebar to scope the search
Find in note
Press Cmd+F / Ctrl+F to search within the current note.
Esc: close search
The search box shows the match count and has a toggle for case sensitivity.
Advanced Search
For filtered searches — by date, folder, or tags — use Advanced Search:

You can filter by item type (notes/tasks), date range, folder, and tags, then save any combination as a Smart Folder. Advanced Search also has an optional semantic mode that finds conceptually related notes even when keywords don’t match.

Search tips
- Use quotes for exact phrases:
"project kickoff" - Combine multiple keywords to narrow results
- Add relevant tags to your notes so you can filter later
- Use descriptive titles —
"Meeting Notes: Project Alpha"is more findable than"Notes"
