Structure your note as slides
Use H1 headings (# ) to mark slide breaks. Everything between two H1 headings becomes one slide:
# Welcome to NoteCove
NoteCove is a local-first notes app.
# Key Features
- Offline sync
- Tasks & projects
- CLI integration
# Thank You
Content before the first H1 becomes an untitled opening slide. Use H2–H6 for sub-headings within a slide — only H1 creates a slide break.
Add speaker notes
Use the :::speaker and ::: markers, each on their own line:
# Key Features
- Offline sync
- Tasks & projects
:::speaker
Remember to demo the CLI live.
:::
Speaker notes appear in a companion window (position it on a second screen) and are never visible to the audience.
Start the presentation
View → Present (or Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P). The presentation opens fullscreen. The speaker notes window opens automatically on a second display if available.
Navigate
| Key / Action | Effect |
|---|---|
→ / Space / Enter | Next slide |
← / Backspace | Previous slide |
| Click | Next slide |
Esc | Exit presentation |
A slide counter (e.g., 3 / 7) appears in the bottom-right corner.
Tips
- Keep slides focused — one concept per slide
- Presentation mode is read-only; edit the note before presenting
- Speaker notes are author-only and stripped from the slide view
