First launch
On first launch NoteCove creates a local storage directory for your notes. You can add cloud-synced storage directories later — see Set up cloud sync.
iOS
The iOS app is currently in development. It requires iOS 15.0 or later.
Cloud storage setup
If you plan to sync across devices, install your cloud storage provider’s desktop app before configuring NoteCove:
- Dropbox: Install the Dropbox desktop app and ensure sync is running
- Google Drive: Install Google Drive for Desktop
- iCloud Drive: Built into macOS — enable it in System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud
After NoteCove is installed, configure your storage directory to point at a cloud-synced folder. See Set up cloud sync for step-by-step instructions.
Troubleshooting
Notes not syncing after install
- Verify your cloud storage app is running and actively syncing
- Check that the sync folder has read/write permissions
- Open Help → View Activity Log for diagnostics
CLI installation
The notecove command-line tool ships inside the desktop app. Install it from Tools → CLI → Install CLI… — see the CLI reference for details.
